Established in 2014, the Black Child Development Institute-Dallas/Fort Worth Metro (BCDI-Dallas/Fort Worth Metro) is a community-based organization advocating for families and their children.
BCDI-Dallas/Fort Worth Metro is committed to providing the necessary tools needed to improve the overall well-being of families and their quality of life. BCDI-Dallas/Fort worth Metro supports all initiatives set forth by the parent organization, the National Black Child Development Institute, Silver Spring, MD.
For over 52 years, the National Black Child Development Institute (NBCDI) has been at the forefront of engaging leaders, policymakers, professionals and parents around critical and timely issues that directly affect Black children and families.
With the support of the organization’s National Affiliate Network, BCDI-Dallas/Fort Worth Metro is committed to the overarching mission of the national organization which is “to improve and advance the quality of life for Black children and families through education and advocacy”.
BCDI-Dallas/Fort Worth Metro delivers high-quality programs and workshops in response to the voices from their communities. BCDI-Dallas/Fort Worth Metro recognizes the needs of Black families and their children and the issues including early childhood education, health, child welfare, literacy and family engagement. BCDI-Dallas/Fort Worth Metro is a volunteer-driven organization partnering with other community-based organizations to bring positive change within the communities.
